The Pittsburgh Glass Center is accepting applications for the full-time position of Development Manager. The nonprofit art center includes a public-access glass studio, visiting artist residencies, an education program, and ambitious exhibitions. This brand new position has been created to support the glass center's expansion. The center has come to grow and develop its individual giving, corporate sponsorship, and new foundation support. As part of the job, the development manager will be responsible for a number of tasks that uphold fundraising. These tasks include, "researching new foundation prospects, grant writing, funder reports, individual donor research, cultivation, and tracking, corporate sponsorship and other administrative duties".
Those wishing to apply should have a B.A. in either Arts Administration, Art History, Studio Art, Communications, English, Professional Writing or something closely related. Candidates must also have a minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in professional development but arts development experience is preferred. Depending on experience level, the salary for this position ranges from $45-$55,000. Along __with this new job posting, the center, in collaboration with 3 Rivers Glass Beadmakers is looking for artists to submit work for their first jewelry and wearables exhibit. The exhibit will take place at the glass center. From October 6th to November 19th, artists such as, flameworkers, coldworkers, fusers, blowers, etc., will have work on display that can be anything; as long as it's wearable. Artists can apply online by August 15th to be considered and will informed by September 1st if they have been chosen for the exhibition.
